MlA from Bhimtal Assembly constituency Dan Singh Bhandari expressed concern over ‘illegal’ mining that is allegedly going on in Amritpur area of his constituency. He accused the State Government of ‘promoting’ illegal mining in the region.
“We have been raising the issue of illegal mining that has caused huge damage to the State exchequer, with the State Government for a long time. But the State Government does not seem serious about curbing this illegal activity,” alleged Bhandari. “The matter of concern is that it has become quite unmanageable for the people living in my constituency’s Amritpur area, the MlA from Bhimtal, In this case, if the Congress-led State Government fails to act, we would strongly raise the issue in time to come,” he asserted.
