“It is worth mentioning that 40 or 50 years ago, large number of people, mostly Uttar Pradesh, visited Uttarakhand in search of jobs and later they settled down here. At present, they don’t have any connection with their native State. Before this decision, these people were not entitled to get domicile and caste certificate by the department concerned,” he added.

“Those who have expressed concern over High Court’s decision on the issue of domicile and caste certificate may file review petition in the Supreme Court,” he added.
