Ministers responsible for drop in number of questions: Mahra

PNS

Expressing concern at the apathetic attitude of the Government for replying the questions in the Assembly, the deputy leader of Congress legislative party, Karan Mahra said that this attitude is dissuading the members from raising issues in the Assembly.

The agitated Congress member while participating in debate on work adjournment motion under Rule 58 said that the State Government had given assurance in house six months ago that the recruitment scam would be investigated within two months but no action has yet been taken on the issue.

Mahra also recalled that he had submitted a pen drive in a serious corruption case to the chair but nothing concrete has happened.

He alleged that the ministers are only interested in suppressing the issues raised by the members of opposition instead of taking cognisance.

The deputy leader of Congress legislature party claimed that the nonchalant attitude of the ministers is forcing the members not to put questions.

“This is the reason for reduction in number of questions placed by members in the Assembly,’’ he quipped.
