Medical Officers of state Ayurveda service have demanded removal of Dr A K Tripathi from the post of Director Ayurveda.
The Rajkeeya Ayurveda and Unani Chikitsa Sewa Sangh (RAUCSS), the association of the government Ayurveda and Unani doctors has opened an open front against the director Dr Tripathi who also is the Vice Chancellor of the Uttarakhand Ayurveda University.
In a memorandum sent to the Ayush Minister, Harak Singh Rawat, the general secretary of the association Dr Hardev Rawat said that the appointment of Dr Tripathi on the post of Director of the department was wrong as he belongs to education department and there are many eligible senior doctors in the state Ayurveda department who should have been promoted to the post of the director of the department. RAUCSS is also agitated on the fact that apart from being made the director Dr Tripathi was first made as registrar of the Uttarakhand Ayurveda University and later made its officiating VC.
Rawat has further alleged that many dubious drug manufacturing companies are being given the orders of supplying medicines by the department. The samples of these companies have previously failed in tests.
The association has also demanded that the recruitment process which has been recently initiated in the Ayurveda University should be suspended till a full time VC of the university is appointed.
