Since the high court of Uttarakhand cancelled the Government notification regarding implementation of the Dehradun master plan 2005-2025, the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has not yet resumed granting approval to building maps. According to officials, the authority is still awaiting directions from the State administration in order to act in view of the high court orders issued on June 15.
It is pertinent to mention here that the maps of all constructions in the area under the purview of the MDDA have to be passed by the authority for the construction to be undertaken legally. Approving building maps for construction is one of the important tasks and revenue sources of the authority. However, since the high court of Uttarakhand cancelled the Government notification regarding implementation of the Dehradun master plan, the authority has stopped granting approval to building maps for construction.
last week, the MDDA had sought directions from the state administration in this regard and was expecting to receive the same in a couple of days.
However, the directions have not been received yet. The MDDA vice chairman Ashish Kumar Srivastav said that the authority has not yet resumed granting approval to building maps.
The directions from the State administration in this regard are still awaited.
The State has also filed a Special leave Petition (SlP) in the Supreme Court regarding the high court's order on the Dehradun master plan. The State authorities are now awaiting the listing of this SlP in the supreme court.
