The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) will plant 5000 saplings on the occasion of Harela festival in Dehradun.
Informing about this, the Dehradun deputy municipal commissioner, Rohitash Sharma said that 50 saplings will be planted in each of 100 wards on Thursday.
He said that the corporation has already done all the preparations for the plantation including the digging of pits where the saplings will beplanted.
"The forest department will provide the saplings to the MCD. The plantation will be done with the help of the councillors of all the wards and the municipal supervisors," added Sharma.
