MCD to make DPR after visit to Mathura Gau-Sadans

PNS

After returning from his visit to Gau-Sadans at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, the Dehradun municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that after reforming the necessary points according to the situation here a Detailed Project Report (DPR) will soon be drafted. Pandey said, “I visited four Gau-Sadans at Mathura along with a veterinary doctor and a junior engineer. The concept is good but the situation there is different from here.

There the Gau-Sadans are commercialised, which means that they keep both types of cattle, the ones who still give milk and the ones who do not. They get revenue from milk production.  However, in our case we only get those cattle that are abandoned on the streets.

Most of those cattle are either hurt in some accident or are ill.”He added, “Taking all the things into consideration, a DPR will be made and accordingly the work of second phase will begin.” It is pertinent to mention here that the development of Gau Sadan in Dehradun is slated to be undertaken on 84 bigha land in Selaqui.

The development work will be done in two phases. For the first phase a DPR of Rs 77 lakh has been sent to state administration for approval. Work of the first phase has already started and is likely to complete in about a month.
