Municipal Corporation Dehradun (MCD) continued to conduct its anti-encroachment campaign on Monday. During the campaign which was conducted from Clock Tower to ISBT and in Hathibadkala, five to six truckloads of materials and 12 display boards were seized. It is important to mention here that the officers from MCD re-visited Hathibadkala in the evening to seize materials from those who had encroached again on the space cleared earlier.
Land Department superintendent of MCD Dharmesh Painuly said, “The campaign on Monday was conducted on the route from Clock Tower towards ISBT and Hathibadkala.”
He further stated, “Five to six truckloads of materials were seized on Monday along with 12 display boards.”
When asked about their re-visit in the evening at Hathibadkala he said, “We went their again in the evening to see and ensure that they do not set their shops on roadside.
However, we found encroachment again and we took necessary action.”
It is worth mentioning here that the MCD officials conducting this campaign have stated that those who are repeatedly getting their materials seized or paying challan are now hesitating to encroach again.
