PNS

Following the proposal passed in the first meeting of the current Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) board, the municipal team has collected land data from 26 wards out of the 40 new wards of the city so far.

The team will further identify the government land in the new wards which will be used for commercial activities for enhancing the revenue of MCD.

As per the officials of the MCD, the work of identifying government land in the new wards has been underway since February this year.

For now, the team is only collecting the data while identification of the government land will be done after the collection of data is complete.

Adding more in this mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ said, “As discussed in the first board meeting we are planning to spot and then convert the MCD land for commercial purposes like constructing wedding points, petrol pumps and shops.

These can also be given in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Mode.

Our team has been actively collecting the data of the new wards.

As soon as the work is completed we will take steps to make the best use from these properties in the new wards. Commercialising these properties will help us to increase the revenue of the MCD.”
