To ensure peaceful counting on Saturday, Dehradun district magistrate and election officer Ravinath Raman met the representatives of various political parties and district officers at Town Hall on Thursday.
DM Raman said that representatives of political parties should reach the counting venue, Maharana Pratap Sports College, with valid entry gate passes by 6 am on Saturday. They should not carry electronic materials and other explosive materials at the venue. Separate entry gates for the pass holders have been made for the Vidhan Sabha- wise counters, he said. The counting of polled EVMs would start after counting of ballet papers is completed. Counting of polled EVMs will be done under the surveillance of CCTV cameras and the counting process would be duly recorded.
Raman further said that the model code of conduct being in force in the district till March 15, section 144 of CrPC has been enforced at the counting venue at Maharana Pratap Sports College in Raipur. No rally or sloganeering would be allowed around the venue.
