Maxmed centre all set to provide medical consultation

PNS

The residents of Haridwar would soon start getting medical consultation on Cardiology, Orthopaedics and Oncology as Maxmed Centre is all set to come up near Chandracharya Chowk in the city.

For the past three years, the doctors of the Max Hospital based in Dehradun have been coming to Haridwar for consultation purpose and now a dedicated centre is coming up where a patient would be given primary treatment in case of cardiac emergency. Besides, if things so warrant the patient would be ferried to the Dehradun-based facility for surgical treatment on advanced cardio-support ambulance.

This aside, the first hospital in the state equipped with the facilities of specialised surgery in orthopaedics and cardiology at par with what is available in the metro cities is opening its out- patient department in Haridwar.

The doctors associated with Max Hospital claim that the patients from Haridwar accounts for close to  10% of those who come from across the state and outside to the Max Hospital in Dehradun for treatment.“This is what made us to start OPD here,” said, Dr Sandeep Tawar, the unit head of Max Hospital.

Cardiologist Dr Preeti Sharma said, “All over the world, emergency cases are always treated where the patient is and after the patient becomes a bit stable he is taken for further critical care.”

The doctors attached to Max Hospital say that the consultation fees here would be much less than the fees collected in the Dehradun unit and other metro cities, though the treatment would be at par with them.
