The wealthy senior citizens of the country would soon have new address in the Doon valley. The Max group is building a residential community “Antara senior living” for those above 60 years near Dehradun.
The Director Community Development of the group Kenneth Sannoo informed The Pioneer that the project was coming up in a 20-acre area with a view of Mussoorie hills and was designed to meet the unique needs of the senior citizens by creating a hassle less lifestyle combined with access to comprehensive health care in which the Max group specialises.
He said the community will have 217 apartments of sizes ranging from 1500 sq ft to 7,000 sq ft and these will have a price tag of Rs 1.4 crore to Rs 5 crore. The community will have an extensive club house and would include restaurant, theatre, library, activity rooms and outdoor games facility for the residents. He said in modern times people do not have proper time to spend with their parents due to which elderly feel neglected.
Sannoo said Antara would provide every care and facility to its 300 odd residents. For this the group planned to recruit 350 trained individuals for giving all the care needed by the senior citizens. He said that the entire community will not have any stairs and for added safety of elders the rooms will not have any edges on the walls and the floors will be slip free.
The group has hired construction giant Shapooriji Pallonji as civil contractor while internationally reputed firm Petkins Eastman of New York would be the Principal architect. The construction of the community is in full swing and the apartments would be ready to move in by 2016.
