Paying tribute to Manorama Sharma Dhobriyal who died at Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon on Wednesday morning, Santosh Chauhan, former chairperson of State Women Commission, Uttarakhand, said that she was zeal incarnate when it came to fighting for a lofty cause, be it the statehood movement for Uttarakhand or the issues related to the cause of the women.
It may be mentioned that Manorama Sharma was the president of State Women Congress and secretary of All India Women Congress. Notably, she was the first Mayor of Dehradun too.
Chauhan added that she would continue acting as the beacon of light for the people of Uttarakhand for time to come, inspiring us all to plunge headlong in the selfless service of the people.
