Vikasnagar police has seized 280 liters of kerosene oil from Sunil Pal, the owner of the four-wheeler from which the kerosene was recovered. Pal, a resident of Vikasnagar, had failed to show relevant documents for the kerosene oil seized. He was later arrested.
A case under section 3/7 essential commodities act was registered against him in Vikasnagar police station and was sent to Sudhowala jail after being produced in the court on Thursday, said Vikasnagar Circle officer SK Singh.
Teams have been formed and they are investigating the case, he added.Sources said that Pal might have purchased kerosene oil at cheap rate from Public distribution system shop in Vikasnagar.
