PNS

The State Congress demanded the State Government to make public the footages of Sting CDs recovered from possession of Umesh Sharma. Speaking of the matter, the state Congress vice-president Surya Kant Dhasmana said that the alleged involvement of many officers  demanding money are said to be stored in the CDs recovered from the possession of Umesh Sharma. He further said that the whole episode has exposed the reality behind the zero tolerance rhetoric dished out by the State Government.

The Congress leader demanded that given the seriousness of the revelations, the Chief Minister should himself come forward and give clarification on the issue. He said that Congress stands for stringent punishment for those involved in the matter. “But how can we forget that the same person who has been arrested was the mastermind of the sting done on then CM Harish Rawat? At the time, BJP lauded the sting operation and the person was provided with high profile security by the central forces,” he said.

Taking a swipe at the BJP, the state Congress leader said that the saffron party championing honesty should not be scared of facing sting.

He also cast question on the long time the police and the administration had taken before swooping down on the conspirators. “The complaint was lodged on August 10,” he said. He demanded that all the CDs, pen drives and cameras recovered should be made public and action on those engaged  in  such activities should be taken.
