Great Vedic Manishi and philanthropist –Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Dev Vrata inaugurated Mahatma Prabhu Ashrit Satsang Bhawan at the Tapovan Ashram in Dehradun on Sunday. later he also felicitated eminent personalities who have contributed to the society by their exemplary work in the field of Vedic education, Vedic music and imparting Yogic training, besides 10 meritorious students. The event was organized to commemorate the life and works of Vidya Martand Swami Deekshanand ji
In his address Dev Vrata said, “Our country needs such Ashrams and institutions which teach Vedic education, Yogic training and cultural values. Such teachings are slowly diminishing from our society which is imperative part of our civilization. Vedic Sadhan Ashram Tapovan is doing exemplary work in keeping such traditions alive. Spirituality is what will lead our generations to become great souls and I commend the efforts of Vedic Sadhan Ashram Tapovan. I am honored to be here today.”
On the occasion Shradhanand Sharma, Ch lajpatrai Arya, Rajendra Kachroo, Acharya Dr Annapurna were felicitated with “Ved Mitra”, “Arya Shreshthi”, “Sangeet Shiromani” and “Ved Shri” Awards respectively, by the governor. Ten meritorious students were also awarded with Tablets with one year free internet access in the emerging markets. They can during their initial phase of education become tech savvy and are well informed.
Darshan Kumar Agnihotri, President of Tapovan Ashram said, “Tapovan Ashram has been engaged in providing education to children who come from under privileged families, free medical counseling and medication to those who cannot afford expensive treatment. Swami Deekshanand ji dedicated his life in studying Vedic scriptures and conveying their relevance to the world. Mahatma Prabhu Ashrit ji truly created pure and simple souls who are involved in uplifting the society all over the country in more ways than one.”

Vedic Sadhan Ashram Tapovan, Dehradun has organized five - day celebrations that commenced from 11th May. Tapovan Ashram organized meditation camps, Yuva Sammelan, Bhajan Sandhyas amongst other programs. More than 600 people who have come from different parts of the country participated in various activities organized by the TapovanAshram.
