lord Kedarnath's doli leave from Omkareshwar temple

PNS

The utsav doli of lord Kedarnath left the winter abode of Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath to Kedarnath shrine with elaborate rituals on Tuesday. Accompanied by priests and devotees, the statue would go through an arduous trek and various halts to reach Kedarnath on April 23. The doli would halt for the night in Guptkashi on Monday.

The portals of Kedarnath shrine would be opened at 8.50 am on April 24.  Kedarnath, which had borne the brunt of the 2013 disaster, has been the focus of Government’s reconstruction efforts. In the early phase of the yatra, the pilgrims may have to travel through the road cut through the snow, still covering the dham. The devotees going by road may have to travel from Sonprayag onwards on foot due to the bad state of roads.
