With suspension of Inspector of the Ramnagar police station, more heads are likely to roll in connection with the communal tension that broke out in Ramnagar area on Friday night.

If the senior police officials who are at the helm of affairs are to be believed CO of the Ramnagar region may also face the heat. There is a general feeling among the people of Ramnagar area suggesting that had the senior officials of the Nainital district police and district administration reached the spot on time, perhaps the situation could have been handled more effectively.

When asked will the police department take necessary action against the police officials concerned of the Nainital district who were on duty for their ‘mishandling’ of the situation in Ramnagar , ADG Ram Singh Meena, who is monitoring this case, however, told The Pioneer, that one Inspector of Ramnagar police station has already been suspended in this case. Further investigation is on into this case. CO of Ramangar region may also be transferred if need be. But it will be clear only after completion of the investigation, he further said.

Meanwhile, cautioning the anti-social elements against any anti-social activities, the ADG did not rule out some more arrests who were allegedly involved in this communal tension case. The investigation is on into this case to identify those people who were involved in this case. Only after completion of this identification process, necessary steps will be taken against those who are found involved in this case, added the ADG.
