The Vice Chancellor (VC) of Doon University Surekha Dangwal has said that the application of the Learning Management System (LMS) makes teaching easy and interesting. She was addressing a one day workshop on the LMS organised by the Central Library of Doon University on Friday. She said LMS has become very important in recent times and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and National Education Police -2020 also strongly advocate it. Under LMS the use of video conferencing, students’ assessment, discussion forum and uploading educational documents are done for teaching. Dangwal informed that the Doon University has prepared its own learning system using open source software for implementing an online standard education system. She opined that by using this system the teachers and students would be able to coordinate in a better way. The VC added that one should not understand that the new technology would take the place of teachers but the fact is that it would enhance the capacity of teachers.
