The use of light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation (lASER) technology is of utmost importance for national defence, said Senior Scientist at Instruments Research and Development Establishment (IRDE) Dehradun, KC Bahuguna while delivering a lecture at Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC) here on Tuesday.
The lecture was organised on the occasion of International Photonics Day.
He delivered his lecture on ‘Tunable lASER sources in mid Infra Red band for counter-mere studies’. Bahuguna said that these studies are important for aircraft and missile technology programmes. He elaborated upon the global usage of this modern technology.
The Director of the USERC Durgesh Pant dwelt upon the photonics in length on the occasion. The scientists and technicians of USERC participated in the programme.
