The books of National Council Education Research and Training (NCERT), have again proved their worth as the experts point out that large number of questions were asked from these books in the just concluded National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

The NEET is now a single entrance examination for all medical and dental colleges (both Government and private) of the country.

In the biology section of this prestigious examination this year more than 90 percent questions were asked from NCERT books of Class XI and XII.

The Managing Director (MD) of the Achievers classes here, Manu Pant acknowledged that large number of questions was asked from the NCERT books. “Many questions were indirectly asked with a little twist from the textbook of NCERT. The question bank released by the NCERT is a sort of treasure trove for the students. Every NEET aspirant must compulsorily have this question bank called Exempler,’’ he said.

The students too vouch for NCERT books for success in the medical and engineering entrance examination. “The question bank of NCERT, The Exempler was really very helpful. This question bank is available for free on website of the NCERT. I advice that the students should not get confused from large number of textbooks available in market and make the books of NCERT as base study material for preparation,’’  said Jyoti Sharma, a NEET aspirant.

A retried Government school Principal, U S Gusain said that the NCERT books are prepared after a lot of research and are easy to understand for student and explain things properly for the teachers. One can notice the names of large number of subject experts who are engaged in preparing text of one book on the initial pages of any book, he said.
