In a fresh development over the lingering temple entry controversy in Gabela village area in Chakrata, Dehradun district administration has assured the agitators who have been continuing with  their  stir under the aegis of Jaunsar Babar Parivartan Yatra  that the  administration would ensure  they  get into the Kukushi temple on Monday. Things happened after activists of several organisations  like Bajrang Dal, Hindu Jagran Manch and Virsavarkar Manch entered the temple and offered their prayer on Saturday.

City Magistrate lalit Narayan Mishra said that  Jaunsar Babar Parivartan Yatra leader Daulat Kunwar had agreed to enter the temple  on Monday to  offer prayer. Dehradun DM Ravinath Raman said that there is no dispute over entry of persons,  including those  from the Scheduled Caste, in the temple. “The situation in Gabela is peaceful. Some persons belonging to SC offered prayer in the temple on Saturday. None was prevented to enter the temple. Temple will be opened for all on Sunday,” he added.
