Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor has landed in a soup after his wife filed a complaint against him with the police, alleging him of indulging in domestic violence.

Satish Gautam, Deputy Superintendent of Police, confirmed that police have received a complaint of domestic violence against lt Gen DDS Sandhu (retd) from his wife. The complaint was made on Thursday by Sandhu’s wife, Japjit Kaur and the matter was being probed.

However, no FIR had been registered yet. Sandhu had been accused of throwing his wife out from their house on the KU campus and not letting her in. On top of this he was also alleged of not supporting her financially. Further action would be taken only after probing the matter thoroughly, said Gautam. On the other hand, Sandhu has refuted all this allegations. He claimed that the keys of the official bungalow on the KU campus were with his wife and he had not met her for the past six month and hence, there was no way that he could throw her out.

“All the allegations made against me are false. I stay in Karnal as I have to look after my old mother, who has suffered from a stroke recently,” said Sandhu. He also claimed that he paid a monthly amount of Rs 40,000 to his wife and he was unaware as to why she has levelled such allegations against him.
