The Kotdwar police recovered the body of a woman from a gorge on the side of the Kho river some kilometres distant from Kotdwar on the Kotdwar-Pauri national highway on Sunday. The police also found one wheeled suitcase and a polythene bag. The body of the woman has been sent to government joint hospital for a post mortem examination.
The Kotdwar Police Kotwali station house officer, Uttam Singh Jimwal informed this correspondent that the dead body was found below the national highway about five to six kilometers from Kotdwar town during the afternoon on Sunday. One suitcase and polythene bag were also found at the site from where the body was recovered.
A case had been registered by the police though whether the death was caused by murder or some other factor, will be ascertained only after the results of the post mortem examination are received. The identity of the woman had not been established on Sunday with the post mortem also yet to be done on that day.
