The Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Garhwal MP Major General BC Khanduri (retd) has demanded that the teachers’ transfer policy adopted by the BJP Government should again be implemented in the State.
He said that media reports suggest that the teachers are alleging gross irregularities in the transfers which is a cause of worry. Khanduri said that the BJP Government led by him had implemented a transparent transfer policy after getting it endorsed by the assembly. He said that according to the provisions of this policy, the teachers posted at remote and inaccessible areas would be automatically transferred to the accessible areas of their choice after serving a fixed term. Khanduri claimed that this policy if implemented would remove the paucity of teachers in the mountainous areas of the State. He regretted that the Congress Government took back the act which was good for the State, teachers and the education system.
