Khalistan supporters condemn Baba Ramdev's hailing of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'

The secret agencies are keeping an eye on the meetings of the Sikh community members who have now launched a crusade for Khalistan, a separate sovereign State.

A group of Sikh community members has raised an objection over hailing ‘Bharat mata ki jai’ and demanded that this slogan should not be imposed on religious minorities groups as it was against their religion. In meetings held in Gurudwaras, this message shall be propagated to other community members, for example the Shiromani Akali Dal Mann group members.

A meeting was held at Gol Gurudwara in Jwalapur on Saturday by Shiromani Akali Dal (Mann) group. The national general secretary of youth wing of SAD Mann, Manbir Singh Garewal said that hailing glory of Mother India was not as per the tenets of their religion.

“We are against hailing ‘Bharat mata ki jai’ but some religious groups are trying to make this slogan mandatory for we, Sikhs. Our religion does not allow us to sing glory of Bharat Mata.” He also condemned the statement made by Yog Guru Baba Ramdev that every Indian must hail glory to the country saying Bharat mata ki jai.”

He further said that minority communities in India were not safe. The State must give equal rights to the minorities and force must not be used when people from minorities protest for their rights.

On the modus operandi, Grewal said, “We have appointed president of youth wing in Uttrakhand to bring awareness about Khalistan movement. We will fight on our religious issues. Gurudwara Gyan Godri at HarKi Pauri is very important for us and the district administration must resolve it  as soon as possible.”

Garewal also slammed the State agencies which are involved in drug peddling in Punjab. “It is a big conspiracy against the youths in Punjab. A separate State is a must for us now and we take it fighting through democratic ways,” he added.
