Kedarnath MlA submits memo to CS

PNS

On the directions of PCC president Pritam Singh, the Kedarnath MlA  Manoj Rawat along with the party delegation submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh raising various issues. The memorandum states that in the Kedarnath constituency in Rudraprayag districts, many suspension bridges destroyed during the 2013 disaster have not been reconstructed on the Mandakini and Kali Ganga rivers till date. In the absence of bridges, the students and locals are forced to travel many kilometres to reach destinations located a few hundreds metres from their homes. The previous state government headed by the Congress had provided funds for construction of bridges in some of the areas but due to departmental negligence the bridges have not been prepared yet.

The Congress delegation further alleged that due to the fault of the government, mining lots had not been opened in mountainous districts of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar. This has stalled construction work in government and private sectors in these districts. The stop on mining lots should be lifted, they demanded. The delegation also complained about deteriorating law and order situation in the state. They cited the case of a television journalist reportedly thrashed by liquor mafia near a police picket in Dehradun.
