PNS

Uttarakhand Vidyut Samvida Karmchari Sangathan has decided to oppose the State Government's proposal to privatise the power distribution in Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar and Roorkee in Haridwar district under the public private partnership (PPP) mode in the State.

The association member Vinod Kavi said that a meeting was held at the association office with the members. The members criticised the State Government over this decision.

According to him, instead of strengthening the State power sectors which was major source of employment generation in the State, the Government was planning to privatise the power distribution in Kashipur and Roorkee. Such decision would leave adverse impact in the long run on the residents of the State.

Presently, persons from the mountainous parts are migrating to the plains in search of jobs and after this decision, the youth of the State will migrate to other parts of the country.

The association has decided to intensify its protest across the State unless the Government revoked its decision.

Anil Nautiyal, Ghanshyam Sharma, Neeraj Uniyal, Padmini, Sangeeta, Swati and others were present in the meeting.
