Awards were presented to those who secured various positions in the Jai Krishan Lal Memorial district-level badminton competition organised by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in Uttarkashi.
The district-level badminton competition was held at 36 BRTF Tekhla from May 5 to 12. Matches were played in the singles, doubles and mixed categories for above and below 35 years groups. The pair of sub divisional magistrate Devendra Negi and district youth welfare officer Vijay Pratap Bhandari won the finals of doubles in above 35 group. In the finals of the below 35 men’s singles, Aryan from Dunda defeated Surya Prakash Chauhan. In the mixed group of the same category, the pair of Dipika and Shubham defeated Amit and Neelam.
In the women’s singles of this category, Srishti Dobhal defeated Deepika Bahuguna. In the above 35 category men’s singles, Rajendra Singh Bisht defeated Ajay Kumar. The winners of various groups in the competition were presented with Rs 5,000 cash award each while the runners up were presented with Rs 3,000 cash award each by the BRO. The BRO commander Sunil Srivastav was also among those present on the occasion.
