Jayanti Prasad to be honoured by PAHAl

PNS

On the occasion of National Science Day, Jayanti Prasad, who belongs to Uttarakhand, had joined ligo Scientific Organisation (lSO) in 2012 and made phenomenal contribution in research of gravitational wave, will be honoured by PAHAl on Sunday.

Prasad had done research with noted physician Prof Ashok Sen for two years, done post doctoral from National center for Radio Astronomy, Pune and worked with Padam Vibhushan awardee Prof JV Nadikar in Astronomy and Astrophysics. Now uttarakhand’s scientific institution People Association of Hill Area launchers (PAHAl) will felicitate him. PAHAl Chairman Kamla Pant expressed hope that uttarkhand’s scientist will add several other feather in its cap in future. It would be pertinent to mention here that ligo Scientists organisation had identified gravitational wave in Washington DC on February 11, 2016. In which they come to the conclusion that around one crore years ago two black holes had collided with each other and a wave had generated and now it is reaching to us. They also identified that with this collision another black hole created and liquid gravitational wave has turned into new energy. The research is being considered as one of the major achievements.
