The investiture ceremony with traditional pomp and show on Monday marked the beginning of winter term at prestigious Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC). The cadets and staff members also paid their homage to old boys of the college who had laid down their lives defending the country from external aggression and from enemies within.
The Commandant of RIMC, Col HS Bainsla led the ceremony as he laid the floral wreath at war memorial of the college and paid homage to the martyrs with full military honour. During a special assembly for investiture ceremony the deserving cadets of final and penultimate terms were allocated responsibilities and tabbed appropriately.
In his address the RIMC commandant Col Bainsla, exhorted cadets and all the members of the staff to raise themselves above all selfish interest and contribute to the improvement in the environment of the school. During the ceremony Cadet Md Sohail Islam was appointed as Cadets Captain which is the highest appointment among the various hierarchies of the cadets.
Cadets Akhat Raj, Muzeeb, Shashi Kumar and Neeraj Ingwale were appointed as the section Commanders of Pratap, Ranjit, Shivaji and Chandragupta sections of the college respectively. The ceremony also included a host of other appointments such as NCOs and Sub NCOs which were delegated to the cadets. All the newly appointed cadet officials also took an oath to discharge their duties in the best interest of the institution.
