The Director General (DG) of School Education Senthil Pandiyan has directed all Chief Education Officers (CEO), District Education Officers (DEO) and Block Education Officers (BEOs) of the State to ensure that all the school children and their parents are informed about the preventive measures for swine flu.
In his letter the DG has given a detailed account of the preventive measure for the disease. He said that the children should regularly wash their hands with soap. Pandiyan said that the 'hand wash technique' which was communicated to all the schools earlier for mid day meals should be strictly followed.
He said that the officers should ensure that the funds allocated for procuring the soaps under 'hand wash technique' are properly utilized. The DG has also advised the students to refrain from going in the crowded places.
