The allotment of 34 wine shops on lottery system was conducted at the auditorium amidst tight security on Wednesday. No application was received for the shop of Beerokhal. The application has thus been invited again on April 16 and then the shop will be allotted on the basis of lottery. In the presence of chief development officer and acting district magistrate Sonika, superintendent of police Ajai Joshi, sub- district magistrate P l Shah and district excise officer, 34 wine shops of the district were allotted on the basis of lottery. Eight wine shops of the district were allotted to women applicants. Out of 35 wine shops, 3441 applicants had submitted their applications for the 34 different shops. Many applicants had submitted applications for more than one
wine shop, but once they were allotted one shop their names were struck off from the remaining ones.
