Stating that most of the Covid-19 positive patients recently admitted in the hospitals ignored their initial symptoms of the contagion, the Dehradun district magistrate Ashish Kumar Shrivastava said that this negligence has elevated the death rate of the patients in the district. He said that in a recent analysis done by Dehradun district administration, most of the recent Covid-19 positive patients who were admitted recently in the hospitals suffered from serious respiratory issues that possibly occurred due to ignoring the initial symptoms. The doctors have said that the chances of recovery from this disease are more if the treatment begins in the initial stage because the acute respiratory complications make it harder for the patient to recover, said Shrivastava. "People should not ignore any initial symptoms. If a person has any kind of symptoms, he or she can contact district healthcare numbers or call our control room number.
There is no need to be afraid of the treatment of Covid-19 disease. The administration is providing the best health care facilities to the patients," added Shrivastava. He said that about 56 people have died in the district so far due to Covid-19 disease.
These include 21 patients from Dehradun, 11 patients from Haridwar and three patients from other districts besides 17 patients from Uttar Pradesh.
Moreover, he also informed that the doubling rate of the Covid-19 is presently 32 days in Dehradun. In view of recently rising contagion related cases in hospitals, the DM has also directed SDMs to regularly inspect the hospitals in their respective areas.
