In a renewed bid to make the Centre unravel the long-continuing mystery of Netaji’s disappearance, around hundred people from across the country are expected to sit on an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi from August 18, informed national convenor of the long March 4 Netaji, Amlan Kusum Ghosh in Haridwar on Monday.
He added that 13 members of the legendary leader’s family would be there to give fillip to the movement. Over 10,000 people from across the country are likely to attend. He said they would continue with their movement till the Centre, sitting on it mysteriously for years, comes forward to declassify all the files related to Netaji’s disappearance.
Ghosh said seventy years having passed since the patriot disappeared, the nation is still being kept in the dark. “The mystery remains unraveled despite the Centre having appointed several commissions to clear it. The people are convinced that the successive governments keep on suppressing the truth to shield certain people,” Ghosh said.
Notably, 180 files containing the secrets of the legend’s disappearance are still being kept in the closets of the government. Ghosh reminded BJP that its president had assured during his visit to Cuttack in 2013 that the Netaji files would be opened if BJP came to power at the Centre
Ghosh also said the Centre should clarify things about the property worth 22 lakh dollar, donated to Indian National Army (INA) that was credited to the Government of India after World War-II ended. “It had disappeared mysteriously,” he said.Neatji disappeared after the Taiwan-bound plane he was supposedly abroad crashed on August 18, 1945.
Ghosh said that Chandra Kumar Bose, Abhijit Roy and Chitra Ghosh aside from several other family members of the leader would participate in the rally. Maj Gen GD Bakshi, would lead the hunger strike, he said, adding that over 10,000, including thousands of ex-servicemen, would attend it.
