Harbansh Singh Chug assumed charge as the new district magistrate of Haridwar on Tuesday. Immediately after assuming charge as the new DM, he inspected Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and other important items kept in the record rooms. He instructed the office staffers to maintain only one dispatch log book with one counter instead of three to four logbooks with the same number of counters. Previously, separate dispatch registers were maintained for camp office and for several other departments.
Chug served at several posts during his stint as the administrative officer like vice-chairman (VC) at Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA).
After assuming charge, he took stock of the projects now running across the district. During the meeting, all the ADMs, SDMs and other senior district officials were present.
