The Nainital hotel and restaurant association head Dinesh Sah has stressed that the association is with the Government and is helping the needy through different means in these troubling times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The association has provided financial assistance to the Helping Hand group while the association’s members are also providing assistance in the personal capacity and will continue to do so for the people in Nainital if required in the future.

Shah said that tourism has experienced a drop during the past few years in lake city Nainital due to different reasons.

The global pandemic has affected all including the tourism industry.

Apart from being an important part of the state’s economy, the tourism industry also generates employment for a considerable number of people.

He said that tourism was one of the first businesses to be closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will open last after the situation returns to normal.

After resuming business too, the tourism industry is likely to take about six months to return to normalcy.

He expressed confidence that the Central and State Governments will take necessary measures considering the state of the tourism sector.
