The indefinite agitation of the employees of the HMT factory, Ranibag, Haldwani, entered its 41st day on Tuesday with the agitating employees of this public sector unit asserting that they would continue till their long-pending demands are met. There are 523 employees presently working in this factory.
Some of the main demands of the agitating employees are immediate revival of the said factory and release of their salary dues which are pending since April 2014.
Apart from these, we are also demanding restoration of the electricity supply to the HMT factory, Ranibag, which was cut off long ago, said the employees.
Some of the members who took part in the agitation on its 41st day at the factory campus at Ranibag on Tuesday included M C Nainwal, TD Pandey, GC Pandey, Pushkar Singh Negi, Devendra Negi, Kamlesh, MC Joshi, Tara Dutt, Kamla Chaturvedi, leela Sharma and Padma Rautela, to name a few of the employees on stir.
