Hike school fee only after consultation with parents, Raja Rammohan Academy told

PNS

Taking cognizance of the complaint filed by the All Uttarakhand Parents Association (AUPA), the district education department of Dehradun has asked the Principal of Raja Rammohan Academy, Clement Town, to undertake any increase in fees after consultation with the parents and ensure that the increase is not more than 10 percent in three years.

In a letter directed to the Principal of the school on Wednesday, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Dehradun, S P Khali has said that AUPA delegation had submitted that the school management has arbitrarily increased the fees in current academic year though the school had imposed similar burden on parents last year.

In his letter to the school, the CEO has categorically stated that the schools affiliated by CBSE and ICSE are issued No Objection Certificates (NOC) by the district education department based on which the schools apply for affiliation of these boards.  Khali in his letter has warned that the NOC of the schools not following the norms could be cancelled by the district education department.

The CEO has also attached the written complaint of the AUPA with the letter to the school Principal and asked her to submit a point wise reply on all the points raised by the parents association within twenty days barring which it would be assumed that the charges of the association are correct and necessary action would be initiated.
