PNS

Helicopter services will be introduced in Darma, Vyas and Munsyari valleys of Pithoragarh district. Doctors will be appointed for one month each on rotation basis. The bridges swept away during the June 2013 disaster will be rebuilt.

These directions were given by Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar to Additional Chief Secretary, Civil Aviation, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare as well as Principal Secretary PWD.

It may be noted that Kumar had recently inspected Vyas, Darma and Munsyari valleys travelling about 33 kilometres on foot.

The CS found during his visit that most villages here are still not connected by roads.

He has now instructed the officials concerned to draft development programmes for these areas.

Kumar directed that helicopter service be started from Dharchula to Gunji, Dharchula to Martoli for Darma Valley, Dharchula to Martoli for Chauras valley and Dharchula to Chaudas valley.

In order to reach these villages by road, it takes anywhere around two to three days.

The CS during his inspection had discovered that there are no health facilities in these villages thus appointment for doctors have been proposed. The doctors will be air lifted with pharmacists and medicines.

These doctors will be appointed at Chiyalok of Vyas valley, Baling of Darma valley and Martoli of Munsyari valley. Kumar has also asked PWD to make bridges.

Bridges from Tedang to Marcha, Dugtu to Baun, Nagaling to Chal village were swept away in the disaster last year. These will require an investment of Rs 2.5 crore.
