The Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has forecast heavy to very heavy snowfall in higher reaches (above 3000 metres), especially Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh districts and rains in the plains from Thursday evening for the next 36 hours.

The Met official said that the maximum temperatures will dip by a few notches across the State following snowfall in higher reaches and rain in  the plains.
