Health dept issues list of doctors' names for PG courses

PNS

Selection of Government doctors for the PG (Post Graduate) courses would prove beneficial for the residents in the near future, once they resume their duties in the State cadre after the completion of their courses respectively.

Among the main beneficiaries would be those villagers who are living in mountainous parts of the State as the medical officers will become specialist medical officers and will render their medical services in the fringe parts of the State. However, it can not be ruled out that the villagers would be among the main sufferers and the load of patients will increase on the medical officers in the Government hospitals, once they would be relieved for the higher studies to neighbouring States.

In the recently issued PG list by the State Health department, a total of 15 doctors from the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand are selected to undergo PG courses in the country. Among the doctors who would enroll in the PG courses are Dr Jaihind Singh from CHC, Bageshwar, Dr RC Arya from CHC Purola (Uttarkashi), Dr Harender Kumar from CHC Pauri, Dr SK Jha from Doon Hospital, Dr Mohan Singh from PHC, Bhatwadi (Uttarkashi),  Dr Y Bhatt, CHC Kotabagh (Nainital), Dr DK Chanakanyal from PHC Badalu (Pithoragarh), Dr Pawan Kumar from SAD, Pangu (Pithoragarh),Dr SA Abbas from district hospital, Rudrapur (Udham Singh Nagar), Dr Parmeshwari  Dayal from CHC, Kichha (Udham Singh Nagar), Dr MS Khatti from CHC Joshimath (Chamoli), Dr Anil Kumar from CHC laksar (Haridwar), Dr SP Singh from PHC Dadamandi (Pauri), Dr R Pangti from CHC Munsayari (Pithoragarh) and Dr Prema Phakliyal from PHC Bairinath (Pithoragarh).

The selected doctors will do PG courses at Agra, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, lucknow and Allahabad.  Department officials told that it would be proved extremely beneficial for the department for

providing advance medical assistance to villagers, once the medical officers will rejoin in the State cadre.
