Two station in-charges, including of Vikasnagar police station, were transferred by Dehradun SSP Kewal Khurana, and Rajpur police station-in-charge is about to be suspended by an order of DGP BS Sidhu.
Vikasnagar police station-in-charge was transferred because of the two theft cases reported in his jurisdiction since Diwali, whereas Rajpur Police station-in-charge’s suspension was recommended by DGP because he had failed to check drug supply under his jurisdiction. This came to light after the arrest of two allegedly drug smugglers along with narcotics on November 1.

On condition of anonymity an official said that SSP has categorically instructed each police station to make sure smooth flow of traffic movement.
As we know that traffic is perennial problem of the Dehradun and each police station in charge has been made responsible to ease the traffic movement in his jurisdiction.

It is known to everyone that Dehradun traffic jam starts by morning i.e. 7.15am due to school timing then starts by 9am due to office time then 1.15 pm to 2 pm due to school leave and 5 pm due to office closure and ends by 8pm.
“If we manage traffic from 7am to 8pm then how station in charge would be able to unravel the crime or make plan to put a check on theft case in his jurisdiction.”

According to police head quarter press note, DGP Sidhu has instructed to Dehradun SSP to suspend the Rajpur police station in charge because STF had arrested two allegedly drug smugglers along with drug from Rajpur area on November 1 because DGP had given standing instruction to all police stations’ in charge to make sure no sell of narcotics in their jurisdiction after October 22, 2013 otherwise department would suspend station in charge and departmental action against the concerned Circle officer (CO) as well.
The press note further claims that district police head should take similar action against the station in charge if such crime happens in future as well. Another official further said that with this order now station in charge will try to hush-up cases related to drug because of the standing order.
