Taking a dig at the BJP Government in the State for rejecting the demand for loan waiver for the farmers, the former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat said here on Wednesday that his party would launch a Statewide agitation from October on the matter.
While replying to a query posed by the media persons on Baba Ramdev, he said that his government had shown generosity to him and his company during its stint for selling ‘substandard products’. “We refrained from taking action against his company despite being aware of its producing and selling below standard products out of sheer generosity,” he said.
He further asked the Baba and his close aide Acharya Balkrishna to procure the report sent by the department concerned regarding the sub-standard quality of the products the company is churning out in the markets. “Collecting the report is not difficult with BJP being in power both at the Centre and in the state. Action was warranted, but we chose not to take action,” he said, making the duo target of his criticism on the day being observed across the world as the International Yoga Day. Mention worthy, the state drug department had collected 82 drug samples from 2013 to 2016 which had been later sent to the State Ayurvedic lab based in Haridwar for testing. Out of four samples tested in the lab, two drug samples of ‘Shivlingi Beej' and ‘Diya Amla Rasyan’ had been declared sub- standard.
