In a bid to fulfill the promises, which were made by the Congress during Assembly election-2012 that they would build Vidhan Sabha in Gairsain, the Harish Rawat Government has decided to hold a session in between June 9-14 at Gairsain. BJP has condemned the decision and alleged that to take political mileage in upcoming Panchayat election and Assembly by-polls CM has taken this decision.
Meanwhile State media convener, Surendra Kumar has appealed that leader of Opposition Ajay Bhatt should not politicise the issue because State has taken the decision in view of public sentiments. If Opposition and public representative agree then State would organise the session in temporary makeshift. By doing this the State wants to respect the people sentiment, which is deeply associated with Gairsain, since Uttarakhand agitation. He assured them that less manpower would not put any hurdles in the smooth conduct of the special session of Vidhan Sabha. If public representative agreed then theywould take them by road route. He appealed to them to avoid politicising sensitive issue.
He further alleged that Opposition had adopted a negative attitude while State Government was putting all efforts to resume Char Dham Yatra, which is directly associated with State economy and tourism as well. So far 62,000 pilgrims have paid obeisance in Char Dham and by organising this the State is trying to spread a message across the globe that Char Dham, which received a major dent after June 2013 disaster is now safe for tourists. Instead of making such allegation they should give suggestions to the State about how to ease the Char Dham Yatra.
