Govt to act tough against truant employees

PNS

The State Government has decided to act strictly  with the employees and the officers who are inclined to leave the headquarters sans the requisite permission. To curb this tendency, the State Government has issued direction to the District Magistrate Pauri along with other DMs posted in other districts of the State. The district administration officials said that the step to be taken against such erring employees and officers is meant to enhance the work culture in the districts of the State.

As per the direction of the State Government, no officer would leave the headquarters without the prior permission of the DMs whether to attend meeting of the directorate in Dehradun or for any other matter.

DM Pauri Sushil Kumar said that the State Government has served such instruction to discourage the tendency rampant among the officers to bunk duties and leave the headquarters at their will sans permission from the DM.  Kumar made it clear that the erring officers would no longer be spared.

Mention worthy, the Pauri District administration had issued such instruction some years ago. However, the officers keep on flouting such order with impunity and getting away with it.

While hailing the move, observers say that the district administration should execute it sincerely so as to stop it from replicating the earlier order which was taken lightly by those for whom it was meant.
