If you are holding any government pass, which allows you to avail free bus service and you are planning to use it to travel in some high-tech or air conditioned buses using it than better ditch the idea. The recently launched online booking service provides no such facility for such passengers.

As per the recent online booking services introduced for all the air conditioned buses by the Transport Department of Dehradun, there is no provision for passengers holding government or any other passes in the AC buses of the town. like the IRCTC services available for the railway buses, the recently launched online booking services provide facility of booking seats in the air conditioned buses of the town which can be availed by sitting at home through internet facilities.

Generally bookings in these high-tech buses are done one month earlier. All the customers have to do to avail this online booking facility is to register on the website named www.upcconline.uk.gov.in. later a message will be received on their mobile number with a password. Customer would have to login the id using the same password and fill the required details in the form displayed. Customers can pay either using their debit, credit card or through net banking.

However, an official of the transport department on the condition of anonymity revealed that two seats are left vacant for senior citizens in these buses but there is no provision for any pass holders. Though one seat is also meant for the affiliated journalists, he stressed.

The online booking services are especially available in the Volvo, air conditioned and high-tech buses of the town. This service is available on few routes including Dehradun-Delhi, Dehradun-Jaipur, Dehradun-Haldwani, Dehradun-Nainital and few other routes. The service was introduced in May this year.
