Even after facing the wrath of the ruling party and verbalconfrontation with the Congress MlAs, the leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha, Ajay Bhatt, continuously spoke for two-hour-and 15 minutes among all the legislators who shared their plight on disaster in the first half of Vidhan Sabha proceedings on Wednesday.

In an exclusive interaction with The Pioneer, Ajay Bhatt said that Opposition party left no chance to highlight the shortcomings of the Congress-led State Government during the disaster. “I have power and stamina to speak continuously for four to five hours especially on disaster issue as hundreds of villagers are on the verge of starvation in the mountainous parts of the State,” he reiterated, adding that the Congress-led has turned completely insensitive on disaster issue as concrete steps are still awaited for redressing the grievances of the displaced villagers, who faced the brunt of the natural calamities that played catastrophe in the month of June.

After lambasting the Congress-led State Government for its callous approach for not ensuring the timely execution of disaster relief works in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts of Uttarakhand, Bhatt lamented that thousands of pilgrims and villagers had lost their lives due to the insensitive attitude of the State Government. Bhatt stressed that the BJP wanted to see the overall development of Uttarakhand.
