PNS

The Government doctors have welcomed the decision of State Government to implement the provision of Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP).

On Monday the State Cabinet had decided to implement the DACP for all doctors of State health services from April 1 this year. The State Government had implemented the scheme last year but limited it to the new doctors only. The serving doctors of the state health service were up in arms against the decision of the State Government and demanded across the board implementation of the scheme.

The DACP means assured increased in grade pay of the doctors after 4, 9, 13 and 20 years of the service irrespective of whether they get promotions or not.

To express their gratitude to the Government on implementation of their long pending demand, a delegation of the association of doctors, the Provincial Medical Health Services (PMHS) met the State Health Minister Surendra Singh Negi on Wednesday.

The Spokesperson of the PMHS, Dr Anand Shukla said that the DACP would give benefit to about 800 doctors of state health service while more than 300 doctors would get immediate and considerable monetary benefit. It is estimated that the salaries of all doctors would witness a jump of Rs10,000 to Rs15,000 per month.

The doctors are of the view that the State was losing as doctors were joining services of other states as salaries in the state are lower. The measure is expected to bring an improvement in state health service reeling under acute shortage of doctors.
