Says Sanskrit can be the language between Kashmir to Kanyakumari

In a bid to promote Sanskrit, Governor Aziz Qureshi announced to constitute a standing committee led by National Sanskrit university, Tirupati Vice-Chancellor. He said that Sanskrit can be language between Kashmir to Kanyakumari. It is not confined to a certain religion because Bhopal emperors continued to study Sanskrit till 240 years. Now, there is a need to understand Sanskrit deeply. To promote Sanskrit Dr Qureshi announced to constitute a standing committee led by Nantional Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Tirupati vice chancellor. The committee will prepare Sanskrit vision document at national level so that we would take further action on the basis of their report. Qureshi expressed these views on the concluding day of the three-day international Sanskrit conference at Rajbhawan on Sunday.

In his address, Qureshi said he has great affection for the Sanskrit language since his childhood. “We organised the conference so that Uttarakhand would play an important role in extension of Sanskrit in national and international arena.” To strengthen Sanskrit, he announced to constitute a standing committee comprise all vice chancellors of Sanskrit universities and led by VC of national Sanskrit university, Tirupati. He expressed hope that the committee will have intensive meeting to prepare vision document on national level. They will give recommendation to the union government about how we can promote Sanskrit. For this, Uttarkahand Sanskrit University vice chancellor Prof Mahaveer Aggrawal has been made coordinate among them and its first meeting would take place next month at Delhi.

Talking about Bhopal Muslim dynasty, which were imparting Sanskrit education in their school. “With this we can say that Sanskrit is not confined to any particular religion or class. If Kalidas would have written Meghdoot in present scenario, he would have mentioned about Uttarakhand’s mountains, its climate, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri and he might have buried terrorism, exploitation and other devils in deep sea. With this, they might have given message of peace and serenity.”

State Sanskrit education Minister Mantri Prasad Naithani said: “We should make an effort like what we are doing for the revival of Holy Ganga or Himalayas.” He further stressed that he would take ahead the efforts of governor for the promotion of Sanskrit. He also assured Dr Qureshi that government would their best to develop Uttarakhand Sanskrit university as an institution of international level.
